    A High Court decision in 2010 means that Full Time Students on Youth Allowance can now claim a tax deduction for study related expenses.  For more information about eligibility and how to claim see the ATO website

    NEW!! Welfare e-mail

    Contact welfare@qut.edu.au and a Counselling Services Welfare Officer will respond to your welfare enquiry. Welfare Officers are available to assist students with Centrelink difficulties, budgeting, or tenancy issues and more. they can also help you access information about resources in the community which may be able to further assist you. If the matter is urgent, please see the following: Welfare Community After Hours Contacts.

    "Healthy Relationships" event
    The Counselling Service is promoting a ‘Healthy Relationships’ event here at QUT as part of our participation in Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month. 

    Changes to Youth Allowance

    Changes to Youth Allowance and Commonwealth Scholarships to be approved by the Senate this week – details to follow.  Students are advised to hang in there or contact QUT’s Financial Helpline Phone 3138 3488 or free call 1800 209 587.
