Repaying your loan

In the next few weeks you will receive a copy of your QUT Invoice which shows you the total amount you owe on your loan, the date your loan is due in full, and provides you with an invoice number and information on the methods available to repay your loan.   Please note, that you will need to make repayments as per your contract.  For example, if you have agreed to a fortnightly repayment on your contract you should make your payments fortnightly for the agreed amount.   You must use the Invoice number when making your fortnightly repayments.  Please ensure that you read all of the following information prior to making your first repayment.

1. BPay online from your bank account

Use your bank’s BPay facility to transfer a payment to us. Please use the Biller Code and Ref information provided on the payment slip at the bottom of your original QUT Invoice sent to you when the loan was granted.

Lost your original Invoice? To generate a new payment slip, please follow the instructions under “Paying through QUTPay”.

Hint: Some banks provide the option to schedule BPay payments into the future. This would be an ideal way to set up a series of periodic payments for your loan.

2. In person at any Australia Post Office using cash, cheque or debit card

Payments can be made at any Post Office with Cash, Debit Card or Cheque when you present the payment slip at the bottom of your original QUT Invoice sent to you when the loan was granted.

Lost your original Invoice? To generate a new payment slip, please follow the instructions under “Paying through QUTPay”.

3. By mailing a cheque

Please make your cheque payable to QUT followed by the reference number provided on the payment slip at the bottom of your original QUT Invoice sent to you when the loan was granted.

Then send the cheque and payment slip to:
QUT
Locked Bag 9 GCMC,
Bundall, QLD 9726

Note: To generate a new payment slip to send with your next payment, please follow the instructions under “Paying through QUTPay”.

4. In person at QUT Cashier Office using cash

Payments in cash can be made to the Cashier on any of the three campuses. Please note that there is a $500 cash limit.

5. Paying Through QUTPay

QUTPay allows students to pay for University goods and services, either online with a credit card, or through a number of other payment options.

NOTE: QUT does not recommend the use of credit cards to repay your SFAS Loan.

To get to QUTPay go to https://qutpay.qut.edu.au The following screenshot sequence indicates with red arrows where you need to click to proceed through the steps required to generate a new payment slip for your SFAS Loan. Where necessary, additional help text (in the form of speech bubbles) is shown.

The Payment Advice provides you with a new payment slip for your SFAS Loan which can be used instead of the original payment slip provided on the bottom of your original QUT Invoice. A copy of the Payment Advice is also emailed to you. Note: You can reuse this payment slip next time you wish to make an SFAS payment.  However, should you misplace the payment slip, you can simply create a new payment advice/slip to make a payment.
